WOOSH Part 1 - Days 54 - 60

WOOSH is the sound that a week makes going by so fast.  Sorry I haven't been here I guess really nothing too exciting has been happening and also I've just been soooo busy!!! Which is a good thing it keeps me out of the shops tee hee.

I will no doubt recall a few things that happened in the past week and a bit.

Day 54 - Happy Birthday to my Daughter - 13 hmm so must not remember DD13 not 12.  Ahhh a teenager in the house - quick I'm moving out! LOL  She was happy with her presents it wasn't much but I think $ it was enough! LOL

Day 55 - We took my hubby's boss to the airport as he is going to NZ for 3 weeks for work!  I was glad we could help them out well someone needed to as they took so much luggage I think they needed to take food as well as enough 'electronic gear' for the time.  We drove him in their car and then I followed in mine.  Then took their car back home to lock it all up!  Glad we could help!  Certainly saving on carparking!  On the same day DS9 had pancake day at school $1.50 for a pancake with all the toppings he said it was YUMMY!  It's the simple things in life that keep him happy!

Day 56 - I got to pick up a few more of the freecycle things.  A whole stack of books for DD13 (ah i remembered) some of the authors which were my hubby's fav so that's good she should enjoy those.

OH on the way home from Zumba Wed night I get petrol as you know and I only had the 8c off voucher for woolies.  As I buy WISH gift cards to get 5% discount then I used that as I still had a lot of $ left.  I also picked up the latest Women's Health Magazine and so with the extra spend in store it works out that the $8 magazine (I know its pretty pricey but worth the money) worked out to be only $1.50.  I was really happy with that.  Ok you don't end up saving on petrol that way but it's a nice little bonus!

Day 57 - nothing exciting happening here .... LOL

Day 58 - Had our first networking meeting for the company I am with today.  We meet at Macca's I didn't buy a coffee so saved a few $ there but I also forgot to take my water and didn't want to pay $3 for 600ml bottle.  Sigh....

Day 59 - Attended a birthday party for a good friend of ours at another friends house.  It was lovely.  We all paid $15 and got a yummy piece of steak with sides.  Much better than going to a restaurant where we have trouble hearing one another.  Great food, great company.  We did BYO beer for hubby and I took water but they also offered soft drinks to those.  DS9 was with us so he enjoyed the Red Creaming Soda cans that he drank - I think the host enjoyed giving them to him MORE LOL.  DD13 was at my mums for her birthday sleep over so that saved me $15 as she can eat as much as me! LOL Although I hear that she got her fair $ spent on her as mum took her food shopping and she eye'd over a lot of stuff and being typical Grandparents gave in to her .... tee hee.

Day 60 - YUM Roast Dinner - who can ever say no to that!  We get the best roast when we go to my mum and steps dads for dinner time.  We like it because we go and collect our daughter and also get fed a good meal - sounds like a plan to me!!!

I'll leave it there and come back later!!! Hope your weeks aren't 'wooshing' before you!!! XOXO

Sleepy Saturday & Sunday ~ Day 52 / 53

Another day gone and I forgot to come back to post.  Still stuffy with a head cold.

I did get up to go to the post office to collect a parcel - the ink cartridge I bought from ebay.  I only paid $55 for it compared to the $90+ that everywhere else wants.  I gather that this is because it's not labelled as an offical cartridge but still it works.  I choose not to go official because I'm not too worried about breaking the warranty as these days the warranties on printers are worth the paper they are printed on.

That was it for Saturday.

As for Sunday pretty much the same excitment LOL.  DD12 woke me up around 10.30am - I was enjoying the sleepin she was demanding that she gets her birthday gifts today to save some time tomorrow - tee hee.  Good try kid.  Your birthday is tomorrow so you can wait till then.  She was less than impressed when I told her she also wasn't born till 11.05pm so perhaps that's a good time for presents???? Tee Hee.

So I rushed out to the shops today to grab the last present as I had been price watching for a long time on a DS 3D console.  Game Traders had them for the best price of $199 which was good compared to any other store.  I was able to use two westfield gift cards which I had prebought on facebook so saved me approximately another 5%.

We headed out to Charlies All You Can Eat tonight as we don't have time during the week to go and have dinner as I'm teaching Zumba.  Just the 4 of us which was nice.  It cost just under $60 but at least there are no dishes to be done.  I drank water as a side so still haven't had any diet coke for 7 days.  I'm pretty happy with that.

Still feeling pretty tired and worn out - blah...

Hope you had a great weekend XOXO

For that was Friday ~ Day 51

Friday was yesterday, sorry I missed a blog post but I really didn't have a lot to talk about.

I have a head cold and woke up quite sniffly and then had to be at the shopping ctr all day for wok.  It was nice to meet people but having a stuffy head made it a long day.  I did buy lunch again but only $4 I still haven't drunk any Coke Zero for 5 days now!  Proud of myself for that!  I did have nice chilled cold water with me thank goodness as it helped to be able to drink that all day.

Helped to pack up all the things yesterday and so I was given a lot of admin things that I will need which are free to me anyway but at least I have them now and don't have to wait another week for them to get shipped to me.

Kids went to the library as DD12 got some books in that she put on hold I'm sure she's going to read half the library by the time the year is out.

Had parent's night at youth group last night and that was good.  Some nice yummy food for supper at parent chat time, it's a nice youth group which DD12 enjoys going there.  I was in bed by 10.30pm once we got home as my head was so stuffy.  I believe I only have this head cold as I'm choosing to eat well and be more healthy so my body is detoxing.  Also on Thursday I did have a BIG serve of dairy which can make your sinuses really congested!

Had to get milk on the way home thank goodness the IGA is open as I forgot to go yesterday will all the rushing around to finish things, I told hubby do not buy any soft drink and he didn't but did bring in some icecream - that little bugger!

Well that's it from me this Saturday morning - sorry it was a day late but *sniffle, sniffle* you get that.  I hope you had an amazing yesterday what ever you did.  See you later tonight XOXO

Valentines Day - Day 50

Happy Valentines Day to those that celebrate it.  We don't in this house.  Hubby and I never met until 23rd Feb so we maintain that's more important and also it's just a hyped up Hallmark day.

Nothing too exciting happening here.  Took Master 9 swimming this morning and part of his swimming vest is coming apart which is nearly brand new so I have to find the receipt to take it back to see if I can get a replacement due to it being 'faulty'.

Worked at the local shopping centre again and met some really lovely people from interstate which was great.  Now I know someone in Tassie & Qld for avon who are in my team!

For dinner we went to IKEA as I had to cancel my Zumba class this evening as I had a few 'rsvp's early to say they aren't attending and also it was 36+ here in Adelaide today and the air con still isn't fixed grrr.  I think my body needed the rest anyway.  After standing and talking to people for 2 - 3 hours a day you can get quite worn out! It cost $37 for the 4 of us to have dinner and a little desert each (although I skipped that bit and just had a taste of other's) I also took my own water even though everyone else shared a soft drink.

We walked through the bottom 'market place' as usual to 'get out' but didn't buy anything. IKEA usually sends us a voucher to get a discount on a spend and I didn't have any ink to print that out so I will have to wait for another time to see if I can use another as it's a bit out of my way just to go for one or two things.

Put the air con on tonight as it's quite warm in the house.  Double brick is great for the first day keeps the house cool but it retains the heat and so even when it's cool outside it's not inside.

Hope you had a romantic day if you celebrate Valentines Day! XOXO

Wacky Wednesday ~ Day 49

Today I worked at our local shopping ctr again for the direct selling company and the promo girls were walking around westfield taking pictures of people inside a love frame so I agreeded to have a pic with a work college but I made it funny so it didn't look too 'weird' having a picture wth a man that isn't my husband LOL.  I got a free Rose from it so that was nice - we like FREE.

Zumba is all wrapped up the week as I am not teaching tomorrow night with a hall that has no working air con and also at least 3 people are away.  So it's not worth hiring the hall.  It's also going to be 36 degree's so I am going to implent my hot weather policy.

Bought lunch again today but as we are standing near a sushi stand you stare at it all day so I thought why not - mostly it was nice but I was left hungry again this afternoon.  I really need to eat more at lunch time I think or eat small and allow a larger snack in the afternoon.

Down to Zumba tonight with my mum and I gave the last of my ladies my little treat they all loved it.  I'm loving their energy!  Home and I get a hot shower and dinner at my mums before I have to head home - oh I love it!

On the way home needed petrol - because it's wednesday LOL - well also it's down to 1/4 of a tank and I don't want to get caught out, and saved nearly $8 filling up which is good because petrol is back to 149.9 - gee wizz!!! Milk is cheaper than that - I wonder if a car can run on milk??? LOL

Hope you had a great Wednesday XOXO

Tired Tuesday ~ Day 48

I don't think I've stopped yawning all day.  Day 2 of no diet coke/coke zero. I did have a coffee at home this morning to attempt to wake me up a bit! LOL

Worked at the local shopping ctr today for direct selling and took my own water and morning tea so saved some money there!  I did buy lunch but only paid $4 as I was quite busy in the afternoon and knew I wouldn't really have 'time' - which is an excuse I know I should be more organised.

This arvo we were busy picking up both children from school, I had to pack the car for the afternoon / evening ahead.  Picking up DD12's Clarient and Music Bag for practice at grandma's and literally walking out the second she finished so I could drive home in time to get to teaching Zumba.

I made my ladies the cutest little gifts for 'Valentine's Week' a little chocolate heart with a card that said I love you all!  Tee Hee.  I am always doing little cute things like that.

That's it from me, nothing too exciting hope you all had a great day XOXO

Mad Monday ~ Day 47

A full on Mad Monday today!!! I taught a Zumba class first thing this morning and then came home to grab a banana (yeah bit effort there) LOL so I could go for a run to do a base line of 1km.  The funny thing is that my phone was in 'miles' and so after 3 laps I'm thinking no this isn't right.... LOL.  So I nearly ran 'a mile' today LOL. 1.4kms in total it was.

Then home to change and get organised as I was helping with the direct selling company's stand at our local shopping centre.  I opened the cupboard and realised ahhh should have done this on the weekend as I don't really have anything corporate to wear Hmmm might need to go shopping... As that took me so long to get organised I didn't get lunch ready in time and so bought subway as it was the fastest and quickest thing I could think of to grab. I got NO diet coke or cookies I was so proud.

I have however drank 2.5ltrs of water today and visited the loo just as often LOL.  Good thing they don't charge you to go ... I'd be living at home! LOL  Although there's a way to save some money!  I honestly do know someone who use to do this.  They had a little wooden basket ontop of their toilet system and it was filled with 5 & 10c pieces the odd 20c and $1 coin.  I use to be facinated with it as a kid LOL.

After school DS9 wanted to make a cake but refused to put the dishes away so hence - there was no cake made today.... LOL.  We are busy tomorrow so there will be no cake then either Hmmm Wednesday ='s cake day??? Who knows LOL.  Dishes could still be sitting there waiting .... LOL

Did an online training module tonight for Zumba all about your core.  It was easy to understand as I've done a lot of anatomy at uni but it's just about learning how the body works etc.  It was good, bit of a study for this old chook!

Hope you had a quieter Monday than me!  XOXO

Show Sunday ~ Day 46

Today I had the opportunity to go to a local market and display my business.  It was held by the Cancer Council of SA - I had 'liked' their facebook page and just hi as you do to get your name out there, and they asked me to come and do a small demo.  It was a great day from 11am - 4pm I got to meet some lovely other stall holders some who I have seen before and I'm really enjoying the networking.

After each song (I did approx 4 songs) I got loud cheers and many claps from everyone which was so lovely.  Everyone said I had so much energy and they could see that I really loved it.  I had a few children there trying to follow me so I engaged with them and the parents said that was great to see!  I was grateful for their positive feedback.

I resisted the cupcakes that were on sale there even though they looked ever so yummy.  I did buy lunch there as I wasn't organised enough to take something but I caught a lucky break with that.  They were taking orders upstairs but I didn't have the correct money so I had to go downstairs.  When I was there I found that half of the items on the upstairs menu were available downstairs for nearly 'half price' due to it being 'lunch time' So instead of $16.90 I only paid $9.90 so I was happy with that.

Home and did a quick food shop as we seem to hae no bread and milk - Hmmm obviously its the weekend the children are home, and the fairies have come in and had all the bread and milk LOL.  I got fresh fruit and some vegies.  I was a bit picky with things to go into the trolley as tomorrow I am starting as D day and starting the plan to loose some more weight and get fit and healthy.

A lot of my friends are doing the Michelle Bridges 12 week body transformation I'm not going to be a paid member this round but am going to commit to the 12 weeks too.  I want to know that I can do this on my own!

That's it from me, nothing too exciting, hope you had a fab Sunday - school's back tomorrow XOXO

Simple Saturday ~ Day 45

A nice quiet day at home today!  Simple and without shopping LOL so that means savings.

We had some of the icecream cake today.  It wasn't as nice as I expected and you only need a small piece as it's quite creamy, not as nice as regular icecream.

I picked up today a free bottle of Moscarto from the giveaway group I'm in.  It's a great group.

I printed out some things for my Zumba business and did some other research online for things.  I love the net it's so fast and easy to find out information about things.

Tomorrow I'm off to have a stall at a local market so that will be exciting!

Hope you had a great Saturday XOXO

Fixing Friday - Day 44

First thing this morning I went to my Chiro to get fixed up!  I go every 4 weeks now.  Although she tells me 'I don't like this Zumba business' LOL she is seeing improvements with my body.  I don't stretch as much as I should and so can be a bit tight in some areas when I go. I saw the dates on my Xrays and see that they have 2004 on them - which would be about right as DS9 was barely 1 and I was having some back pain.  Gee 9 years with a Chiro - I haven't even stuck with a hairdresser that long or anyone else really for that matter! LOL

After that visit I went to Westfield for a walk around as she said it's good to loosen my hips.  I know she means around the block before you sit down in the car etc so I did the usual walk up and down the street and then hit the shops.  I checked out some more prices for DD12's birthday present but there still isn't any specials which I am not happy about which is getting frustrating!  There might be an IOU in her card LOL.

I did buy some Cadbury Drinking Chocolate from Reject Shop for only $3 which I was impressed with as it's $4.22+ at Coles and I refuse to spend anymore than $4 on it, I know I'm a bit picky.  I also got some cute little chocolate hearts which I am going to hand out to my Zumba students this week for Valentines week.  They were only $2 each so I got 2 packets and am sure to have some red cardboard around here to cut out some hearts.  I'm always being creative like this.  I also probably saved some money by not buying the carboard at the shops today which I could have done.  It would have only been a few dollars but still.

While at the shops I got DD12 a drink and a pkt of lollies to take to a birthday party she is going to tonight.  It saved me some money being the fact that I had no children to take back to the shop with me so I didn't have to buy them anything.  I also managed to get a packet of  16 crossants in a packet for $5 (they were marked down) so I grabbed those.  They are a nice treat in the house and will be gone by tomorrow LOL.  DS9 is always eating anything bread based, especially hot cross buns!

I checked out the prices for a replacement cartridge today for my printer as I am getting low and can't believe that eBay is still the cheapest around.  Although I will have to wait a few days for delivery it's worth it if you order it in time. Ebay is $55 any other shop in Adelaide is ranging from $69 - $90.

Hubby downloaded 'Flight' so I watched that at home today, saved me a little money as I was going to see it in the cinema.  He also downloaded Skyfall - James Bond - which I did see in the cinema - because that's always a must so at least I can rewatch it now.

Tonight I made an Icecream cake that I saw Nigella Lawson make.   I had bought most of the things already but just needed to find the energy to put it all together!  It will be a nice treat tomorrow once it's frozen.

Went for a walk to drop off another 100 postcards for my Zumba business I'm really trying to pick up the numbers.

That's it from here. Thank God it's Friday I probably hear some say.  Hope you had a great day and have a great weekend!!! XOXO

Tired Thursday ~ Day 43

Felt like a long day today I was quite sleepy all afternoon but stayed awake just had a quiet day.  My ankle is still abit sore from yesterday but it's more stiff than anything so I did some stretching with it like my physio use to.

Took DS9 swimming straight after I drop of DD12 I really enjoy seeing him the progress he is making I'm also glad that it's a government based program now as I use to take him to private lessons being $18 a week also we were 'on call' so would get the call an hour or so before hand saying there is a spot available if we wanted it.  So I left there and went to another government based program but it was a fair drive away from where we lived and I also had to pay for pool entry.

After swimming I buy DS9 a little treat for being so good as they are quite persistant with him and can really push him to the limits it's all safe but he does have a few meltdowns some weeks.  I found at our local Foodland they had a massive bag of fruit balls for only $6 which would be better value that what I can buy from the local nut shop.  However I left the bag in the car after we opened it for him to take a big pile to school for recess and so when he got in after school he just ate and ate LOL, he was very hungry!

Home again and did the usual check emails, nothing in the mail today so no bills at least tee hee.  Got the local paper and read that in 5 mins flat nothing exciting in there.

Had a new lady come to Zumba tonight and she said she really enjoyed it so that was great! Also I've been asked to do a little demo at a local market on Sunday so that's exciting!!!

Hope you had a great Thursday - the weekend is nearly here! XOXO

Wobbly Wednesday - Day 42

Oh what a day. DD12 at school rolled her ankle first thing in the morning but they said she was alright until she appeared a few more times during the day in the first aid office so they called me about 2.30pm to come and get her.  It must be in the DNA as I partly rolled my ankle in Zumba this morning being a student of all things.  I was hope as quick as a I could to get an icepack and stap it.  DD12 has her ankle strapped from school so if it doesn't settle after a day I'll take her to the docs but I'm sure she's just strained something and its quite sore.

I had subway for lunch I haven't had a take away for so long. It was so yummy! Tee hee.  As I got a meal deal which was $10 (I know it's a lot for lunch compared to other places) I got to choose from a range of items to get something for $1 so I just got a set of cookies for the children to have after school - they are always happy with cookies LOL.

I went to coles to pick up a lasanga for dinner so hubby wasn't going to be too busy sorting it out as I didn't get time today to organise dinner before I left for Zumba.  The lasanga wasn't on special so I wasn't happy to buy it so I got a pkt of Chicken Kievs with garlic butter - Mmmm it was only $8 so happy with that.  Also picked a few other things we needed like 'milk and bread' LOL  I also bought a cake packet mix for $2 as DS9 likes to make cakes so I'm happy as this helps him follow directions and I'm so proud of his effort!

Got petrol on the way home it seems that it will be Wednesday nights on the way home from Zumba as I like to go Coles Express and get the flybuys pts and use all the fuel vouchers that I have.  Saved nearly $4 on a full tank so nothing to write home about but at least it was something.  It was only an 8c voucher as it expires in two days and although I had an 18c voucher that doesn't expire until the 17th Feb and so I will use that next week to refill and save a bit more $$$.

That's it from here, nothing too exciting! Hope you had a great Wednesday and nothing WOBBLY happening in your area! XOXO

Timely Tuesday ~ Day 41

Wow 41 days - didn't it rain for 40 days and 40 nights while Noah was on the Arc? Well it hasn't rained here that long and also today was 34 degrees and tomorrow is meant to be 36 so a warm one indeed.  Good thing I have aircon in my Zumba place.

Today was a good day, generally.  I went and had a facial from a voucher I had I can't really say I enjoyed it all that much mostly as the woman kept talking to me part of the way through.  I won't say much more but there was just more than a few things that were a dissapointment. Also I couldn't relax too much as I was half expending the phone to ring from the school to say go and collect your son LOL.

I had sushi for lunch today and I don't think it's enough for lunch as I was still hungry afterwards even after drinking all the water I was doing today.  Hmmm will have to think about that for next time...

Tuesday afternoons might be a challenge for a few weeks.  My DD12 is having music lessons with her grandma (we teamed that up well LOL) at her house after school and that's fine but it's the coming home with the traffic at the end and then having to make it back for my 5.30pm Zumba class.  I made it just but was panicked the whole time.  Next time I will set a deadline for leaving etc.  Also there were a few car accidents on the road so slowed us down in some spaces.

Back to back Zumba classes tonight and there were two new people who came for part of the councils free get healthy program so that's great.  They told me they really enjoyed it so that was lovely.  I love it when people have a great time at Zumba.

That's it from me, not very eventful I know! Hope you had a great Tuesday! XOXO

Marvy Monday ~ Day 40

Back to school hooray we say tee hee. Even though they have been back for a week already it means that I can get some other things done.  Today I had my Zumba launch for day classes and although a bit quieter than I expected still I enjoyed it.

Sadly my day came to a short halt when I had to go and get my son from school as he had an incident at recess time and there was some violence involved.  Oh well we are learning we will get through this like everything else.

Received in the mail today two free coffee latte sample packets so that was a nice little surprise.  Not many emails and things to check today which is nice!  I get a lot of 'sales' and stuff which takes a while to sort out.  Although I know I should delete the sale emails as there's nothing in there I really 'need' it's still that 'what if' thinking and that i just like to look.

That's about it from here I guess really no news is good news.  Haven't done anything to be news worthy! LOL

Hope you had a great Monday!!! XOXO

Shopping Sunday ~ Day 39

Yay Sunday was here, sleep in and shopping usually is what my Sunday's are about!

We had a big sleep in today and then got up to go and see 'Paranorman' with the FREE tickets that I won.  It was only a double pass but I still got the children FREE tickets too because of the kids club they have.  For every 5 movies you see the 6th is free and so today we used our free ticket.  I looked online when we got home and hubby and I have enough points to claim a free movie ticket too now each so that's awesome!

We raced down to coles to buy a few snacks which came to under $6 as the things we picked were on special - yay go us.  Then of course drop into HJ's to get a frozen coke for $1 LOL.  I didn't have my phone with my so I couldn't do a check in to see if there was anything for free oh well, next time.

After the movies we came home and lounged about hubby had another sleep and DD12 was reading while DS9 was watching tv LOL.  DD12 and I as you may have recalled said we were going to have a reading challenge I am going to have to read for days on end to be able to catch up to her at this point LOL.  It's a challenge I step up so I could read more but also so she could to lessen the amount of tv and computer time. So far so good.  We haven't set up a prize or anything just that there will be a winner - we all know it will be her bahahaha.

Hit Harvey Norman this afternoon to pick up an order from last year - yeah I'm a slack bugger LOL.  I got an AMAZING deal - a buy one get one FREE (yeah I love that word LOL) $20 iTunes gift card.  Thank you very much.  I am finding I need itunes for Zumba to get new songs etc which is great.

Went into Officeworks to get a printer cartridge to find out that they don't stock them any more.  I did a little research online but looks like ebay is my best bet which would mean a week turn around - sigh.... Oh well saved a few dollars today then but increased frustration.

Did the food shopping and went without a list - hmmm not sure if that was smart or not.  I took my phone with me and added up as I went.  I made sure that I spent over $100 as you get a 15c fuel voucher and also I had a $5 off a spend of $100 or more.  I did have a voucher from Coles to get $5 off a spend of $110 or more so I thought hey no - I'll use my 'tell us' coles voucher.  It wouldn't have mattered either way my final total was $117.90 LOL.  I was $4 off I must have missed something as I went around oh well.  Good thing I wasn't standing there literally counting silver coins to pay for it all as I have seen some do!

Worked out a new set for my Zumba class tomorrow night and hubby burnt a new CD I must get him to teach me how to do that LOL.  It's not straight forward I don't get it!

That's it from here hope you had an amazing SUNDAY XOXO

Slow Sleepy Saturday - Day 38

Hooray my hubby is home.  I had to go and pick him up from the airport early this morning his plane landed at 8.45am but I didn't get out of bed till he called to go but he had his book he could sit and read ALL day LOL.  Good thing I didn't have to park either just pick up and go!

Came home and went down to one of the craft markets where I had won the $20 voucher.  It was quite a small market for what I was expecting but still nice.  Talked to some lovely ladies there and there were some from a previous market that went 'hey your the Zumba lady' so that's good.  I'm famous tee hee!  I swapped the voucher for a set of 6 fancy cupcakes they were nice but I certainly would have a hard time paying $20 for cupcakes generally.

Home again to find hubby asleep tee hee hard work getting up at 6am to fly home poor bugger but he did his load of washing and DD12 did her's so hoorah we are on our way to weekend house chores happening and all being back to normal.

The rest of the day I spent at the computer printing out and organising more of my receipts and ins and outs for my Zumba business.  I am just tracking everything I can find in relation to it, there are so many little here and there's that I am discovering.  I was worried about the fact that maybe I'm spending too much on rent etc and fast finding that no it's more like clothing I am buying tee hee - well I need to look the part don't I!!!

Dinner we were lazy and had to have a nice celebration dinner that hubby is home so we had chinese.  We got mongolian beef and I didn't enjoy that one bit but the rest I did.  Made up a soda stream for drink as we were out of other fizzy drinks not that we buy much but I was too lazy to go to the shop and also that saves us some money.  It's why I bought the soda stream in the first place however I'm finding that it doesn't taste like it 'use to' when I was a kid and I can taste the carbon that goes in.

Oh the other best bit about today hubby said while unpacking his back from confrence he has me a present and he pulled out two zip lock bags of mini travel shampoo's, conditioners and bars of soaps.  Oh my heart did a flutter tee hee.  What a thoughtful hubby!  Something in the jewellery department next time - hint hint tee hee. Hope you had an awesome day - XOXO

Frugal Friday ~ Day 37

Super quiet here today just the way I like it!

Dropped both children off at school and came home to enjoy 'nothingness...' LOL.  I had planned to do a lot of stuff in my office but the motivation just wasn't there.  I did accomplish my main goal of picking up each piece of paper on my desk and putting it into a to do pile and then go through that pile and do each 'thing' until completed.  I also managed to file in my folder all of my business related expenses I have now the final pages to go through but it's all grouped.

Found out today I won a  $20 voucher to the local Craft market that is happening on the weekend so that's exciting.  Can't wait to go and visit.  I of course put it on my facebook page and tagged a gf who said I win too many things tee hee. I win ebay auctions too does that count? LOL

I rang up and booked a scoopon deal that I discovered expires in two days time so that's exciting on Tuesday I will get to go and be pampered!  I bought the voucher last year.

After school went to the libary to pick up a few things we had on hold.  I personally would have saved at least $20 as I was very much looking at buying one of the books as I was interested in it. A friend was willing to post it to me but it still would have cost $12 to post as it's heavy.  Now I can read for free. The library is very impressive with the range it has of books especially new ones that are coming out fast in the shops they are getting them in to the library just as quickly.

Took DS9 to Kmart to buy a small lego gift as a well done for getting through the week with no phone calls or send homes and minimal meltdowns he did tell me that he was a little sad today and had his time out but he's not getting violent with it and he's doing what he's told which is take a book and go into the quiet room and come out soon. He's self regulating his behaviour.  I'm very proud.  DD12 bought her own lego as she's nearly a millionare with all the money she has saved from Xmas and the last few weeks pocket money.

Dinner was boring cooked the last two fish fillets and hasbrowns in the freezer as hubby wasn't going to be home in time for dinner so still using up everything I can before shopping.  I am thinking of doing a shop on the weekend however as there is some amazing flybuys and frequent flyer offers happening and we are getting low on meat now.  If I bought some specific things I would be able to do a cook up and freeze some dinners which would make our weeks a lot easier at meal time.

Hubby won't be home till tomorrow now as his flight was delayed so apparently he is being put up in a hotel for the night by the airline as it was a connecting flight and he might be flying home business class. I said no beer for you in the morning flight then - after 6pm on qantas you get a free alcoholic drink hubby said from experience.  I love the little cans of soft drinks you get on the planes - so cute!

That's it from me, a lazy day indeed I think I've earnt it from all the busyness of the week. Hope you had a fantastic friday, frugal or fun and hope you had a great day XOXO

Happy Thursday ~ Day 36

Today has been a pretty good day.  Took my son to swimming as he started back this year with the special program he can access through his school. The staff are lovely and so happy to see us back. DS9 has come in leaps and bounds because of it and I'm so grateful it's just little things like seeing him swim in a normal pool just even for 10 seconds on his own and that he can float on his own.  Proud mummy x

Then I dropped him off at school, he said he was feeling a bit tired so I told the school to call should he get too worn out they said he had a few meltdowns today but they were all controlled and he listened to reason for it all. He didn't get aggresive but he just freaked out and like they say 'backed himself into a corner and couldn't work out how to get out' they allow him to go to the meeting room now to sit in the quiet but he has to take a book in there and try and read and he did this twice today and came out on his own not long after.  I had a few tears being a proud mummy for that! It might be a little thing but he didn't try to kill anyone, it's the same as hearing someone won a gold medal as far as I'm concerned!

Being home in the middle of the day alone, quiet is very odd, I said on facebook today I waited so long for this day to come and now that it has I suddenly feel bored LOL.  I did do a pile of admin for my business which I have been meaning to do for a while but because I love doing admin work I really get into it.  Still have a pile to do which of course I will probably pour over more time and energy than it's worth but I make sure I cross all the t's' ....

Picked up the children today and had a chat to DS9's teacher to find out about the meltdowns she is so approachable it's fantastic,  I'm really hoping for a great year.

Taught my Zumba class tonight and the children were helpful and well behaved too. I'm very grateful one more sleep and then hubby is home - hoorah! Then I took the children to westfield to get dinner, I was being lazy and not doing the cooking thing plus I felt they deserved a treat.  I know they say don't give your children food as a reward but I think it's better than toast for dinner that's about as much energy that I would have had to cook dinner!

I picked up while I was over there a Double pass to a kids movie which I won which was a lovely surprised. Put it on facebook for a friend to freak out over she said I am always winning stuff, I have always been lucky with the little things like that I don't enter a lot of stuff just movie tickets or odds and ends that I think would be nice as a bonus.

Oh forgot to talk about the fact that I gave the Credit Card a little bashing today. I'm off to Sydney in August for some career training in my direct selling business and we booked flights on a special they were having so that was good.  More reason to keep working and keep the budget tight, need to pay for all this somehow... tee hee

That's it from me, hope you had an awesome Thursday XOXO

Workshop Wednesday - Day 35

Today I went to a Workshop for new training materials for the direct selling company I am involved with. It was pretty good to see how the company is evolving.  There was FREE (love that word) morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea which also means CALORIES when it's come to this company, no expense is ever spared when it comes to training like this - and it's so yummy..... LOL

It was a good 20 min drive to where I had to go which wasn't too bad after I did the school drop off I thought I would be late as there was a fair bit of traffic lag but we didn't start on time so I had time up my sleeve which was good.  Had to leave a bit early however so will catch up later and there was a fair amount of traffic on the way home for the school run but overall it wasn't too bad!

DD12 first day at school and all went well. She has the Home Group Teacher she wanted so I was like WOO HOO score.  Told her NOT to try to cut off her thumb this year however in respect she didn't do that till term 4 last year but still on the 'first day' LOL.  DS9 had a great day too. So proud of my little man he's coping so well.

Came home for a short time mostly to just collapse it's hard paying attention ALL day LOL (yes I can be a bit ADHD for sitting for long periods of time) and pack my back for Zumba tonight!

We drove down to my mums house as she comes to Zumba on a Wednesday night too and my children stayed home with my step dad, they have been very supportive while my hubby is away for work. I really love teaching at the Gym it's great to see the ladies smile and enjoying themselves!

We naturally dropped into Savers on they way down and DD12 found a few books she wanted and DS9 found 1 so that was good, helping him get into reading a bit.  Had 15% discount so DD12 said she would pay me the $5 when she got home.... Maybe I might make her 'work' it off tee hee....

Got petrol on the way home using a 18c voucher and saved $8.69 so was super happy with that. The many said would you like to buy milk I said NO thankfully now that the kids are back at school I'm NOT buying milk every other day LOL.

That's it from me. Hope you had a happy HUMP day! XOXO

First Day Tuesday ~ Day 34

Today is the first day back at school for Master 9 or DS9.  DD12 doesn't go back until tomorrow it's nearly like they 'forgot' to plan all together LOL oh well private schools, pay for more get less 'contact' hours.

So after we dropped of Master 9 at school we went and did a bazillion things on our list.  Dropped off some flyers for my Zumba business into two schools who were 'happy' to see us another was not hmmm pity about that I guess it's true if you can't get past the receptionist you are getting no where....  Then we got some more flyers ready to drop off to the local area. It's amazing how quickly you can get stuff done with a partner.

Hit Westfield as the school shirts I bought for DS9 were too small they fit but no room to grow after 3 shops found nothing so had to go for a drive to an independant Big W.  I got the last 6 size 12 shirts in the basket -phew! Also just a straight swap for 5 and then I bought the 6th as I had already opened this mornings's shirt...

DD12 informs me as we are about to leave that she needs more hair things - hmmm how about when I was shopping WEEKS ago for school stuff and I said 'anything else ...???' sigh got to love kids.  I treated her to a smoothie this morning and then also took her to lunch we shared a meal deal at Cafe Primo - love that place and were VERY full by the end of it.

I found an Iphone today on the floor of Target and handed it into the shop assistant and just as we were about to leave the area I saw a girl looking a bit panicked and yep she was the missing owner. She was so grateful I said that's ok it's nice to be honest, I'd really like it if someone returned my phone too!

I guess Karma was good because I bought from Target 3 bottles of nail polish today and they came in at $1.50 each instead of $2 so I'm happy with that. I love it I layed two colours over the top it looks just like the acrylic / gel nails that I use to have my nail tech do so I love it. I did take a pic but it's come out brighter than they are thanks to the flash and also still a bit messy no girl can ever do her own nails perfect LOL. Paid for it too with a $5 gift card that arrived in the mail so yay free stuff LOL.

DD12 got a pair of sandshoes today too for school - that's a chore and a half trying to find those I tell you ... first pair she really looked at she tried on and liked them and I said 'praise the lord LOL' then I was even more excited when the shelf price said $14.96 and the register said $6.  Thank you VERY MUCH!!!!

Did a back to back Zumba class tonight 5.30pm down the hill then raced up the hill for the 7.15pm class. I love teaching it keeps me fit that's for sure!  My children of course are with me with hubby being away so I was a lazy parents and gave them HJ's for tea but also because they were so well behaved!

Off to bed, I didn't sleep the best last night, it's hard when there's only 1 in the bed the last time I recall seeing was 1.30am... I stopped looking after that although I'm sure it wasn't long after that and I was asleep but exhausted this morning!

Hope you all had a great day today especially if little ones returned to school - hoorah the mum's cheer!!! XOXO

Public Holiday Monday - Day 33

A public holiday here in SA for Australia Day!  Hoorah I've 'felt' like it's Sunday all day today which is nearly normal as tomorrow is a school day for 'one' of my children DS9.  He is excited to go so that's something!  Then DD12 goes on Wednesday and I'm kid free - hoorah.... although I will miss them and the lack of go go go routine that I have gotten acustomed to doing 'nothing' these holidays.

Today was a pretty boring day.  I slept in till 9.30am (usually have been waking up a lot later) so I'm feeling that my body is getting use to it's own body clock and got up and did the usual, check emails, facebook etc, waste half a day - you know how it is. Did the dishes, was going to do a load of washing and then the rains started here in SA and I thought wow the weather is bad but not as bad as QLD right now. I took a bit of time today to check through photo's on facebook of flooded area's wow it looks bad.

DD12 slept over at my mums for two nights so they returned her today.  My mum came over early too as she comes to my Zumba and she pottered around outside for a while - I have no idea what she did but she enjoys doing little things around the house LOL.

I read some more of my book today and cleaned up a small piles of clothes that were in my room that I had forgotten to put away in the giveaway pile that seemed to get mixed up with another set of stuff.  Chinese laundry is my bedroom some days... everyone's stuff seems to end up in there!  I wasn't too fussed that I didn't get much done today I think I've run out of steam LOL

Cooked dinner and as hubby isn't here we didn't eat as much as I have one meal saved which I will eat after Zumba tomorrow night which will be back to back classes. So I am happy that I have that ready to go saving me some $$$ and energy cause I will be tired when I get home.

It's very quiet in the house without hubby here felt odd coming home and he wasn't here ...  However the children are back to arguing so nothing's changed ... LOL

That's it from me, like I said nothing too exciting Hope you had a great day XOXO

Siren's Sunday - Day 32

Wow firstly I can't believe I have been writing this blog for a whole month.  I also went to write the 1st instead of day 32 LOL.

Last night there was a bit of excitement in our street at 4am two houses down across the road from us their kitchen was on fire!  I got woken up to people talking outside and thought it was just the general people walking up and down our street at night as they do and then when I opened my eye's I could see flashing lights all over the place.  The first thing I saw was an Ambo parked near right in front of our driveway and then I was waiting for the knock at the door.  I went outside and surprised to find that not many other neighbours were out there but found 2 Fire Enginges, 1 Ambo and 3 police cars blocking the street!  They say it was electrical fault and contained to the kitchen. Phew they got everyone out and noone had any serious smoke damage they got woken up by their smoke alarm so I'm glad everyone is safe.  So that was some excitment for our little street.  I'm sure they got there just around 4am but they didn't clear out of the street until nearly 5am so being awake at that hour of the morning really takes it out of you.  It took a while to get back to sleep too!  I realise not the best pic but it was my phone!

Today I shipped off my hubby to Canberra for a week for a confrence for his phone work he has been doing.  He's not a guest speaker this time which he said is just fine with him as he is more of a one on one person which I'm very proud of.  I saw his video last year and he did an amazing job.  He's very passionate about his job and I think will go very far!  Flight was at 1.40pm so we got to the airport at 12.35pm to allow for check in etc.  He is flying with his two other work collegues and they are sitting at the emergency row so extra leg room for them they will be happy!  However they have to do a lay over in Melbourne for 45 mins as there was no direct flights.  They are flying with Qantas so I'm sure will be well looked after.  Not long after arriving at the airport today and checking in they got to board which was good.

We all got coffee's to wait for a short while I had a two for one voucher for 'Hudson's' Coffee - and the only place I know of is at the airport LOL.  It was covered by the business expenses too so that was nice.  I also did a check in using the HJ's app I have on my phone and got a voucher for 50% off any order under $30 I always seem to get these at the wrong time LOL.  DS9 was complaining that he was hungry (as you do when you can 'see HJ's' so I used the app to get him a meal so $3.85 wasn't bad.

As hubby was boarding the plane I noticed that we were coming up close to our hour of carparking and I didn't want to pay for more time than we needed so DS9 and I rushed to the carpark and phew we made it only had to pay $6 for a hour park instead of $12 for 2 hours.

Came straight home as DS9 was saying he was tired from all that rushing LOL even though I offered to buy him an icecream 30c at IKEA he said his legs were too tired to do any more. LOL so cute x

At 4.30pm I did my usual dash over to westfield for the fruit and veg shop and got some bargins a bag of grapes for $2.50 and half a rockmelon for $1.50. Bolted up to coles too as I needed bread for school on Tuesday as tomorrow is a public holiday all the shops will be shut!  I managed to get a creamy pasta salad marked down by 80c so happy with that.

We just had sandwhichs for tea - we are boring people.  There's nothing on tv and I've already watched the latest tv eps that hubby downloaded so I might read my book for a while!

Hope you had a great Sunday - I'm thinking I might be in bed a bit earlier tonight feeling a bit ZZZzzz ... XOXO

Happy Australia Day (Saturday) ~ Day 31

Hoorah! Australia Day is here and I think it's confused a lot of us because it's fallen on a Saturday and yet it isn't a public holiday here so the shops are still open (not that I went anywhere) but we get to holiday on Monday instead! Yay 3 day weekend!!

We spent the morning being lazy - well I did at least.  Hubby was madly working on his work project as he's about to fly to Canberra for a week to present at a confrence and needed a working model to present.  He got as much done as he could and so we were able to go to my mum & step dads place for a BBQ!  Yum, always too much food down there to eat we are well and truely stuffed.  We all had a small breakfast today and so nearly starved ourselves so we had lots of room to eat LOL.

On the way down I dropped off another bag to savers and got another stamp tee hee ... I'm running out of things to take down there it's becoming a crisis! Tee Hee!  Now I have three savings saved up a 15% & 20% on one and 15% on another.  No doubt with my daughter becoming the book worm that she is that will get used up on books soon enough.

Yesterday I prebought some beer for hubby to take down today and did a click and send order online so I simply go and pick it up at the counter instead of going all through the shop.  Also as I did it through an online partner I get points towards one of the groups I am with.  Not many but something for nothing.  I got it home early enough too so i could chill some before hubby got home.  He was happy with the surprise!

Booked my flight to go to Sydney in March and had to laugh at all the hidden little fee's and charges that they have.  I prebought luggage as I figured I might need it and when I went to pay they wanted to charge more to use a credit card so I did an online transfer of funds.  Gee Wizz they will get you any way they can won't they!  I haven't booked to come back as I'm hoping that hubby will have some points to give me after his flight to Canberra and so then I can use those with what I do have to fly back for 'nearly free' see how I go!  Taking hubby to the airport tomorrow that's going to be a nice little $ in parking isn't it. Oh well, it's what you do.

Managed to do a little bit of reading today and going to do some more now.  I am determined to read at least 1 book a month this year so that's 12 books I would like to get through! Challenge set! I was thinking I could read a chapter a day but that seemed like 'less' as a reading challenge and plus who wants to put a book down when your really into it!!

Oh forgot the main bit - LOL - came home from mum's with only 'one' child DD12 decided to stay down there until Monday - Great for me - it's going to be super quiet in this house then LOL.  I'm glad she does get a little break from my son at times, she is her own person and although a big sister sometimes having a sibling with a disability means that you can be like an only child with the way you are expected to grow up quickly in some areas and be supportive.  Also there is less attention.  As DS9 goes back to school on Tuesday DD12 and I will have some of the day to spend together which will include school shoe shopping (god help me LOL).

That's it from me, hope you all had a great day - Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oi, Oi, Oi. XOXO

Friday Free Fun ~ Day 30

Well this blog is a few mins past midnight .. woops... been a busy girl today / tonight.

Spent half of the day ripping apart (while trying to keep tidy) my office and part of my other rooms looking for the library cards for hubby and DS9.  Found mine somehow and DD12 has her possession of hers for a long time.  In the end I give up and figure I'll try and plead for another one, claiming insanity that I've lost it as they usually charge $5 for a replacement card.  When I get there I ask 'if there any way there is a spot that you keep 'saved' cards as I have literally torn the house apart and there is NO logic of where they are.  He pulls up hubby's file and my son's and goes yes they are here.

Now I'm relieved let me tell you but also annoyed because WHY not call and say your library cards are here especially as now with the automatic borrowing system anyone can borrow things on your card.  I just 'assumed' there were misplaced at home and not 'missing' as such so I wouldn't have any useful stance if someone did use our cards to borrow out half the library!  Oh well.  The other good thing about today is that January is 'fee / can amenisty' where you take canned goods and they will cancel out your fee's on your library cards.

I must admit I didn't have many cans at home so I did purchase a couple of extra with my last shopping trip and take these along to the library today.  I am embarrased that we had fines and was planning on paying them all back but things just got out of hand with homeschooling and other things last year that I just never went there.  Also my daughters school has an amazing library so she has been borrowing from there now.

Looking through the library I could have easily gotten carried away borrowing books and dvd's so I grabbed 3 dvd's as they will be watched and returned and only borrowed 1 book which is the next in the series of what I am watching because I have decided that 2013 is the year of the book for me and I am going to do more reading but LOGIC reading (if there is such a thing) I'm not going to borrow more than I can handle.  We are going to book in, just like an appointment (just like they say you do with exercise or a Zumba class - hint hint) to go to the library every week now after school for a good hour or so.  DD12 said she could spend all day at the library ... Hmmm also she dissapeared into the teenage section today Hmmm I think LOL.  While visitinig there we found a volunteer flyer for teenagers who would like to help in the library with restocking and other things.  I use to do that at the school library when I was in high school and loved it and it's something that DD12 said she would be interested in so I will follow it up.

Over to westfield as I promised a little treat as it's ending the school holidays here.  There was Callum from Masterchef doing a little cooking demo - although we missed it he was still making food and handing out for free so we grabbed two cold prawn rolls they were yummy!  I grabbed a recepie card too and it said that each one was only about 75 calories each so I thought Hmmm I'm going to make those.  They seemed really filling too!

As I'm stuffing my face full of food I get called over to a 'display' by Energy Australia.  Now I am friendly to the people who work at these stands because myself have been there many times talking to people for the direct selling company that I have worked with.  To cut a long story short. Energy Australia use to be TRU Energy which USE to be TXU which is some new company from who knows where but they had lower costs than Etsa and also a % discount if you pay your bill before the set date etc... so I tell they guy yeah we are already with you lalala and he said great as a loyal customer I'll put you onto our bonus discount scheme you will receive $100 off your next electricity and $100 off your next gas bill. Also move up to 4% discount for pre payment.  I don't know he talked a lot I just said ok sure.  Now what he failed to tell me is that basically I was signing a new contract binding for 3 years - now thats fine because I'm not going anywhere but he did fail to mention a few little key things like that = he just said you will get an email to confirm your discounts.... Hmmm thinking I might need a phone call to the company although I don't know if I can be bothered trying to talk to someone overseas's... LOL

Tonight had to pay for some 'child (slave) labour' ... building up my Zumba business I do letterbox drops and so I printed up some new flyers for the new classes which I am starting and attached all those to the pre printed postcards I had made up late last year ready for this.  As there was two of us it took half the time and we did the small area within the hour.  That was great.  I offered her $10 and the minute we were back inside the house she stuck her hand out for the cash... LOL clever girl....

Had to duck over to Woolworths tonight to get some milk - sigh always milk ... however this milk did cost me $44 - I wonder if I have shares in woolworths milk yet LOL.  They had a few things on special and you know it's a public holiday on Monday so you need to stock up incase the world ends LOL.  My dad use to tell me that my mum would go into 'prepare mode' as the shops 'back in the day' were never open on a Sunday so if it was a public holiday Monday then she would buy 3 loafes of bread and about 6 lites of milk.  We should have just bought a cow he said. LOL.  But the freezer was always full and there was always plenty for all.

So free food, free money, free library books (well if you follow all the rules and have no more fines)!!!

A good day today , wow I wrote a lot!  Hope you enjoyed and hope you had a great day XOXO
