Today was a busy day. I started making a list of all the things I had to do and half way through stopped writing the list because it was scaring me! LOL. There aren't enough hours in the day I tell ya!!! (I just love this picture - I thought it was cute to post here).
Left home after lunch (you save money by making sure you feed and water them before LOL - also saves on the 'I'm hungry ... cries when we drive past Macca's... I know your game... LOL).
Picked up 3 things from the Pay It Forward group today, I got a bundle of CD's from one person, a few pieces of clothing from another and a set of doggy steps from another girl. I gave those doggy steps to my mum as her puppies as getting old and find it hard to jump up onto the couch now. My mum said it was very cute and so the children had fun in the afternoon trying to teach them to walk up the steps - its only a small 3 step thing but still entertained us all for about 10 minutes LOL.
We drove to Sam's Warehouse as we literally passed it and I remembered they had a special on toilet paper - I know - what an exciting life I lead but what ever saving's I did save I spent on the discounted chocolate that was there LOL.
Went to savers and we were a bit cheeky, my daughter took a bag in, got a stamp, then I took a bag in, got a stamp. Headed back after with my mum and she took a bag of stuff in and got another stamp but then she spent some money in the shop so I let her have the card and she got 15% discount off so she was happy with that! I got a book which looks nearly brand new for a whole $3.20 (after the 15% discount of course LOL) - something to read in the holidays - don't worry about the pile I already have waiting to be read... sigh .. I've always been a book worm! However my daughter now has the book so I will be waiting a while to get that back! The book is about (ficton) Royal Court of Edward IV and some 'girl' LOL. We love to read books about Royal Court especially King Henry VIII.
Checked out Laser Skirmish and the prices for DD12's birthday party, not too bad $26 and that includes food, drink and a party bag. Not that 12 / 13 yr olds need a party bag, we are still debating the cost it's in the thinking pot. Then I took the children to a Mini Golf - that was only $5 for 9 holes it was fun for the whole 20 mins it lasted LOL. My children get bored easily!
My mum has been cleaning out her linen cupboard again and gave us a few tea towels (which we will no doubt never use) and also a single oven mit - that was a trade as she took our double mitts so they can use them for hot foods with the BBQ - we never use them I don't find they are wide enough for the cake tins as I don't want to squash the cake getting it out. Baker's would understand what I am talking about.
Took my mum over to Big W to do the Back To School shopping mostly clothes for DS9 as everything else you get from the school for DD12 (the joys of private schooling - even the socks are school issued...). She swiped her members card and so I got 5% discount and then I paid with my WISH gift card so saved even more! I am not doing pens / pencils etc this year as I stock piled last year and my son ended up using all of schools and they still issue them with some at the start of the year so I'm not doing that again.
Also I borrowed my mums DVD's of Downton Abbey so now I will have something to watch that we won't have to download.
Took my mum to Zumba tonight at the Gym where I teach your first class is free so that was good. She enjoys Zumba and it's good for her to move around now that she isn't umpiring netball anymore. My mum had a double knee replacement 3 years ago and not much has stopped her I tell you - busy lady! My step dad cooked us dinner too which was lovely - Spag Bog - I ate mine AFTER Zumba cause I can't excerise with a full tummy! I did get an entree of a Prawn Cocktail an hour before I left - YUM!!!!!
Didn't get petrol on the way back home again as it's gone back up to 145 a litre sigh... I can't say it will be much better in two days time when we will NEED petrol. Oh money makes the world go round!!!
Hope you had a great day XOXO
