Happy Hump Day - Day 7

It's Wednesday traditionally known as Hump Day for the mid week marker for the workers.

Today has been a successful day.  Today I simply said to DD12 - come on let's go do a bit of your room and took her by the hand and up we went with three garbage bags - one for rubbish one for donating onto and one for things to sell.  I had to 'replace' the rubbish bag before we barely started to fill the 'donate' or 'sell' bag.  

I am VERY impressed!!!  It has been her decision what to throw and what to keep and we just did it drawer by drawer, shelf by shelf.  We started at one corner or the room and I said nothing is getting put down to be put away later it all needs to get done now.  We have created spots for bags, dress up areas, kept some play things must mostly there's been a big room over all.  

I was shocked when she decided to part with her 'littlest pet shop' toys there has been so much birthday and Xmas money spent on those over the past few years so I had a little internal fist pump moment that yay my little girl is growing up!!! I also breathed a sigh of relief as it concreted to me that I had made the right decision at Xmas by not buying her the 3 sets of littlest pet shop toys that she had circled in the catalgoue.

 All that's left now is to dust and mop the floor and wipe down the shelves and desk in there.

Did a load of washing which included all the floor mats today - they were quite dusty especially from DD12 room.  It feels so good to have everything clean and a fresh start! 

Made 2 batches of banana muffins today with the banana's that were a little tired.  LOL.  DS9 helped me with that so that was good.  Saves a few $ buy buying cake from the shop.  However as fast as they were made they are dissapearing... Hmmm....

Got a note in the mail that my dental checkup is now due - sigh more money .. oh well health is important and then the kicker... the House and Contents Insurance Bill came ... faint and what's worse is that it was last months and is now 'overdue'.  I honestly don't remember it coming up for renewal and obviously it wasn't down in my bill reminder folder so it's jotted in there now so I don't forget again!  At least now it will be due in Jan 2014 instead of Dec 2013 although I don't know which one is worse!
 
Naturally keep checking the things I have listed on eBay - you know the story refreshing the page about 20 times a day 'just' in case it helps to increase the price LOL.  It's slow but steady hopefully all those bidders are out there waiting to 'snipe' at the last minute (cause that's what i do ... tee hee).

Had to zip over to coles to get more milk it dissapears fast around here!  The kids got their pocket money today as they had completed all their jobs (finally) and they decided they wanted to have a look at the shops.  The great thing living near a big shopping centre is that Kmart is open till 9pm and so we had a quick look in there.  I picked up as it was on sale and I really struggle passing a bargin.  A tin of biscuits for $1 and then I found the same tin for 50c on the reject rack as it had a dent in it.  DD12 got a packet of candy canes for 25c.  I love markdowns.  Yeah we didn't 'need' it but I'm sure my husband 'wanted' the sugar - that's what I am telling myself anyway!

Dinner for tonight was frozen fish fillets with hashbrowns and for me some salad on the side.  I bought a lot of salad stuff thinking it would get used for Xmas and it didn't!  We are using up as much food is here now without the need for buying more!
